IS An AUSTRALIAN LABRADOODLE RIGHT FOR YOU?

As a puppy owner and breeder of NEW BRUNSWICK’S DIVINE DOODLES I have learned a lot. Dogs are social animals. They love to be with their people. They are most active in the morning (7-8 am), and then sleep after breakfast for most of the day. At 4 pm they seem to have an activity spurt and need to get out to run and play. Of course a puppy needs more care and attention. He has a lot to learn in his first few months to become the dog you want. They are meant to be with you, a lot. Thus, they are best suited to families where someone who is at home, work from home, or retired. Alternatively, neighbours or the use of doggie daycare may meet their needs. A strong routine is good, following my book , FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS, is a must, classes are very important as is grooming. This dog’s job is to be a true companion to humans.

Most doodles are medium energy dogs. That means that you had better not be a couch potato! When a dog cannot exercise every day, run or go for that all-important follow the leader walk, they will start to find other releases for their energy. They may develop bad behaviors like chewing, barking or digging. The Australian Labradoodle is a very smart breed, a quick learner, easy to train, willing to please and will need to be challenged. What will his job be?
If you or your children over excite a dog , the more wound up it can get. The best release for all this energy is the steady calming walk after exciting play times. As well your dog will need this both in the morning, to tire him out before you leave it and again at the end of the day. Can you devote at least a half hour both morning and night for this walk?

Follow-ups with clients who got one of my DIVINE DOODLES from New Brunswick, tell me their dogs are up for hikes, agility, wind surfing, hockey games, hotels on the road, as well as quiet relaxing cuddle times – they are the perfect blend for their families.

A pup is like having a baby, if you have two or more children under 4, please wait a bit longer before adding a pup to your home.
AUSTRALIAN LABRADOODLE COATS can be wavy to curly to fleecy or woolly. This mix of the multi-generational qualities are producing non-shedding hair . That being said, grooming, brushing to remove loose hair and prevent mats will be necessary. Haircuts will be required and are easy to do as doodles are so shaggy, you cannot make a mistake! Australian Labradoodles can be allergy friendly too.

AUSTRALIAN LABRADOODLE COLORS, pups can come in a rainbow of colors that may change tones as the dog ages. For example, chocolates can turn lavender gray, black can get some russet shades, reds may lighten apricots might fade. Creamy white is the only true long lasting color where the dog never gets to look old.

Australian Labradoodles by DIVINE DOODLES that graduate from our home are educated and very smart. Even our vet notices the difference in my pups when they go for the 1st exam and as local Divine Doodles continue with Dr. Youe as their vet. They will amaze you and bring you years of joy. CAN YOU DEVOTE THE TIME AND CARE TO RAISE THE PERFECT PUP?
